This modernization of a 1922 New York City public school was one of the first handled by the School Construction Authority. The $9 million upgrade included a new full-cooking kitchen, new kindergartens, a refurbished auditorium and classrooms, a major electrical system replacement, and new playground on the site. AKM Architects served as architectural consultant to George Langer Associates Engineers on this project, which was constructed in phases to allow continued occupancy.
