New conversion Downtown: 116 John

Avinash K. Malhotra Architects (AKM) has been working on 116 John Street, as recently published in a New York Times article.
The project includes plans for 418 rental units to be created from the existing commercial building, which contains approximately 350,000 SF.
AKM has designed the conversion and adaptive reuse of numerous other Lower Manhattan/Financial District projects, creating several thousand new units in the area. Completed conversions include 200 Water Street (127 John St), The Renaissance (90 John Street), 99 John Street, Ocean (1 West Street or 17 Battery Place), 3 New York Plaza, Dwell 95 (95 Wall Street), The Crest (63 and 67 Wall Street), the Downtown Club, 100 Maiden Lane, and others. 20 Exchange Place is currently being converted.
AKM’s new high-rise buildings in Lower Manhattan include 2 Gold Street and 15 Cliff Street.
